Repost: Children Should Have the Right to Die?

*Disclaimer: I am transferring from my old blog into this new one. Though this article is old news, my position on it and on the atrocity of abortion still stands, so I saw it fit to be shared one more time. Enjoy!

Last week, Belgium passed a “Right to Die” Law for children, saying that children who are terminally ill and suffering may choose to be euthanized rather than to suffer. That is, of course, after they have been evaluated by a psychologist to ensure that they understand the gravity of this decision.  “Parents”, said the article, “must support this decision.”

Oh. My. God.

Please excuse me while I go cry.

Thankfully, the Church is there to speak up. “The law says adolescents cannot make important decisions on economic or emotional issues, but suddenly they’ve become able to decide that someone should make them die,’ said Brussels Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard.”

I just can’t. These children can’t vote, can’t drink, can’t drive, can’t hold most jobs…. Yet they can decide to be euthanized?  In what world is that even logical?

In Hell, that’s where.

I (and a lot of other people) been trying to say this for awhile, but it seems the world hasn’t been listening, so let me make this really clear for ya…

WHEN WE START DEHUMANIZING BABIES WHEN THEY ARE VERY SMALL AND HELPLESS, IT BECOMES OKAY TO KILL THEM LATER- BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED THE HARDEST PART, CONVINCING PEOPLE THAT LIFE ISN’T ALL THAT VALUABLE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Evidently, the only life that is worth anything is the life void of suffering.

Yet, who really has this life? Who says that pain is the ultimate evil? Why do we want to live without pain? Without pain we cannot truly appreciate happiness and true love. Without pain we cannot join our suffering to the suffering of Christ, and truly appreciate the sacrifice he made for us.  Without pain we cannot empathize, we cannot overcome, and we cannot grow.

This law is the ultimate example of the new twisted mindset that will become prevalent in our world if we cannot stop it.

I will not be silent in a world that looks into the eyes of children and says, you are allowed to live IF you are convenient, healthy, and wanted. We cannot be silent.
